Time is another very importany underlying mechanism within the game.

The game provides different mechanics for the different time periods.

For the purposes of game play, time is assumed to operated in different scales.

Very long term effects that happen over multiples of years.
Long term effects that happen over months and years.
Medium term effects that happen over hours, days and weeks.
Short term effects that happen over seconds, minutes and hours.
Very short term effects that happed in less than a second.
